Tuesday

Cap de Pins — Norumbeague Police were called to investigate a report of an intruder at 12 Rue des Capucins just after 11 pm. When he arrived, Officer Gaudette found no intruder present. The homeowner admitted he might have left the door open after returning from Pop's Tavern.

L'Aurore — Norumbeague Police assisted the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department execute a warrant at Janelle's Auto Sales and Service. The warrant was served without incident.

Vepres — Norumbeague Police responded to a domestic complaint on the Vepres public wharf. Francis De Noyelles, 45, of Vepres, was charged with criminal threatening and transported to the Cumberland County jail in Portland.

Monday

Rose-Croix — The Norumbeague Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a brush fire off Airport Road. Chief Twomey reports that about an acre of grass burned and he is still investigating its cause.

Sunday

Cap de Pins — Norumbeague Police were called to subdue a patron pounding on the door at Pop's Tavern at 11 a.m. Charles Mercer was informed that Pop's opened at noon on Sunday and waited calmly thereafter.

Saturday

Rose-Croix — A woman who refused to give her name or street address told Norumbeague Police that a small herd of deer were eating what was left of her late season hydrangea. The caller was advised that she could shoot one if she had a permit and the others would probably leave at that point. If she had already bagged her deer for the year, police told her to fire above them — in both cases only after ensuring that there was no neighboring house within 500 feet.

Cap de Pins — The Norumbeague Volunteer Fire Department responded to a request from the transfer station to help beat down the brush pile fire into manageable shape after winds whipped it up and threatened the leave-it/take-it shed.

Thursday

Cap de Pins — Norumbeague Police responded to a single-car accident at the intersection of Premier Rang and Rue des Quais. Patricia Williams, 86, of Falmouth, Maine, having borrowed a car from Elise Gauvin of Cap de Pins, drove into the corner of the WIDE Radio building. The Gauvin car sustained reportable damage; the radio building emerged unscathed.
